Sadly a really bad experience
Sadly a really bad experience We rented a Jucy crib van to travel around Australia. Only two days after we got the van the front deck exploded on the highway. We called Jucy right away but it took at least 2 hours before they picked up the phone. They made a truck come to put the spare deck on wich also took a while and when they got the spare tire on it was flat. It took more than 4 hours before we got back on the road again. To get a new spare tire we had to drive to a mechanic and wait for one and a half our before they had fixed it. A few days later the cooler stopped working and our food got bad so we had to throw most of it out. Also the air condition switched between hot and cold air which was annoying when it was really hot outside. Our gps also went out a lot of times. We contacted Jucy to get them to do something but they couldn’t help in a few days so they said we could buy some ice cubes for the cooler until they could help. We had a hard time reaching them after this. Our bedsheets where then starting to get a bit disgusting so we wanted to wash them and we knew that Jucy would do that for us. So we contacted them and what they had forgot to tell us was that there were only a few places that could be done. When we asked them we were not at all near any of the places so it was not possible to get fresh sheets. We think that it is something they should inform us about before we start driving. Due to the very bad weather in Airlie Beach today we wanted to get away and drive the 8 hours to cairns. Suddenly when we were driving the car started to smell burned. The speeder stopped working and smoke came out from the motor cooler. We called Jucy for assistance but it took us up to an hour. We did not know if it was safe to stay in the car so we were out in the rain that hour. When we reached Jucy they sensed a man to check the car. He arrived after one more hour and said that the car battery could explode and that we should not drive any further but wait for a towtruck to pick us up. But due to the bad weather there was flooding so no one could get to us. We used 3 hours talking to every Jucy member and every time they hung up we needed to wait for 20-30 minutes before they answered. They told us different things and it was all very confusing. In the end a man told us we had to sleep in the van by the highway with cars and trucks driving fast by. We did not feel safe at all but there were no other options. A few hours later a woman crew member of Jucy that we had spoken with a couple of times felt so bad for us that she got a man picking us and our van up and driving us to a motel. We just think that it is weird because all the other Jucy people told us there was nothing to do. That day we used over 7 hours in a broken van by the highway in rain. We knew when we bought the van that it would not be perfect but it was cheap. It had a lot of scratches and stuff but we did not think about complaining about it. But all the other things just made the experience so bad. This was just not worth it.
