Don't know about fish
I set up a new fish tank. After five days, I took a water sample in to be tested. Before I added any fish. I was told the water didn't need testing, as long as the filter had been on for 48 hours. I added three fish. Then went back to have the water tested, before adding more fish. The ammonia level was high.He gave me a filter boost liquid, and said do a water change. He didn't give me any chemicals, to combat chlorine after the partial water change. I decided to go to a reputable aquatics shop, and have the water tested on a digital machine. They said, the water should have been tested before adding fish. As ammonia could have been building up. One of my fish has sadly died, and I'm doing everything I can, to save the other two. With the expert advice of the aquatics shop. Don't go to pets at home, for advise on fish. I wish I hadn't. If the water has been tested, when I asked, the fish wouldn't have died.
