Think very carefully before signing up to the motoring club

Tried to cancel my (auto) recurring membership to the motoring club yesterday 30 /06/25 online. Today I get a call from a female customer representative who called me (a woman) LIED to me saying i could only cancel my membership in the actual month (July) i took it out (I have a recording of her saying this ) and only up until the 15th July. My membership was taken out on 27/07/24 . I said I believed the T&Cs said min 30 days before renewal, which I had done. I said I would then cancel tomorrow as it is July , I then I get an email saying thank you for staying a premium member !!!!! I checked and it is 30 days notice , so I had cancelled as per their T&Cs . also I did not get 30 renewal notice as is required by law. Please note that I was not told when i took the subscription out that it was auto recurring and they appear to make it as difficult as possible to cancel. I rang the customer service department again to tell them i had been deliberately misinformed and this time I spoke to a man who apologised for his colleagues incorrect advice and has cancelled my membership
