Premium membership is a waste of time…

Premium membership is a waste of time and doesn’t save you money!!! Yet again after purchasing qualifying products that should get Premium membership discount the store didn’t give me any discount! You never get asked if you are a member and even when you tell them you are it’s hit and miss if they apply the discount. Lost another £11 worth of discount after the email receipt has been sent to your email and you have already left the store. Surely they need to retrain staff on asking if the customer is a member so they can get the benefits and then train on how to activate the discount on the tills… A manager from the Loughborough branch called today to reply to the feedback. His answer was that I didn’t buy motor bike or car items so no discount was given and the discount offered on the receipt was a mistake. I explained I did buy bike cleaning products to which his answer was that head office has put the items into the wrong department so that’s why. On asking why no member of staff ever asks at any of you have a Premium benefits he stated it’s not the staff’s job to remind you, it’s your job to remind them and if they forget to add the discount after you mention then it’s your job to check and not the member of staff. He was rude, abrupt and lacked any customer service skills and may be so annoyed I said “I won’t be shopping at Halfords again and not renewing my membership and won’t be using the garage services again” his reply ‘that’s up to you’ and put the phone down me…Wow obviously don’t need the customers at this branch….shame because the shop floor staff are polite and friendly dispute the rude give a toss attitude of the branch manager.
