Bad experience with Dexters: Unmet promises and security issues

My experience with Dexters, particularly with Matt Hartwell, the estate agent at the Clapham branch, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. Prior to moving in, assurances were made regarding the condition of the house, even supported by video evidence. However, upon our move-in date, the property was in an even worse state than initially communicated. Throughout the initial weeks of our tenancy, essential issues such as broken windows, a damaged roof, and a malfunctioning toilet were highlighted, yet we were informed that these critical repairs would not be addressed. This was incredibly disappointing, as these are fundamental aspects that significantly impact living conditions. What's more concerning is the oversight regarding the keys. Matt failed to retrieve them from the previous tenants, allowing them unauthorised access to the property during the night once our tenancy had commenced. This security breach was alarming and deeply unsettling. The lack of follow-through on promised repairs and the breach of security with former tenants retaining access showcases a concerning lack of responsibility and care on the part of Dexters and their representative, Matt. It's disheartening when assurances made prior to the tenancy are not honored, leading to a compromised living situation. Moving forward, I urge Dexters to improve their communication, accountability, and overall management of properties to ensure that future tenants don't face similar disappointing experiences. It's crucial for a reputable agency to uphold their commitments and prioritise the safety and comfort of their tenants.
