Great ship and crew, lovely food, well thought out and executed itinerary - 5 stars
This review relates to the April 25th to May 2nd departure of Titan's Adriatic Coastal Explorer with good weather throughout. The MV Amorena is a beautiful ship with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. There is ample inside and outside sitting/lounging space. The hot tub was a bonus! The ship is family-owned and this shows in that the crew have worked together for a number of years, and are highly efficient and welcoming. They're hard working but always ready with a smile and to help. The tour includes breakfasts, lunch and most dinners and the food is delicious and varied (both in terms of ingredients and 3 course set meal versus buffet) with complementary wine for meals, non-alcoholic drinks all day, plus a paid bar for alcoholic drinks outside of meals. Dietary requirements are catered for. The itinerary was varied from mooring right in front of Diocletian's palace in Split to watching fish, thanks to the ship's underwater lights, whilst moored off an uninhabited island national park. This tour combines well-known and little known places for contrast. Staying on a ship gives the opportunity to visit the towns after and before the day tourists have gone, or to enjoy strolls in nature. Even in April/May Split and Trogir were busy and the historic marble pavements can be slippery; there is a lot of walking with steps and slopes on tours but also opportunities to rest as the ship sails to the next port. Watching the coastline and islands go by is so relaxing! Daily visits consist of a guided tour then free time in the location if sailing or if moored overnight you can come and go as you please. Our tour manager, Boze, was knowledgeable and welcoming, he literally couldn't do enough for us. The three local tour guides (Sbenik, Split and Trogir) were also brilliant and their talks complemented one another's. The use of headsets meant it was easy to hear everything they said. Weather can require the scheduling of visits to change but also brings opportunities for additional stops/swimming from the back of the boat. I'd do this tour on the Amorena again without hesitation!
