Awful Experience
I was never provided with a copy of my contract from Ashbourne upon signing up. When I came to cancel my membership, the only documentation I had to refer to advised that I could cancel my direct debit at any time. As a result, I provided notice in advance of next payment date via email and cancelled my direct debit. I was then bombarded with texts that my payment was overdue. I used the live chat to speak to a very unhelpful advisor, who quoted terms of the contract that I had never received, stating I had to provide 30 days notice. I explained that I had never received a copy of this and they arranged for it to be sent to me. This took a further 5 days. It took 11 days for a transcript of this live chat interaction to be emailed to me. They then added an additional charge to my account of £29, which I had to request they remove via live chat. I requested that my feedback regarding the absence of a copy of contract be communicated back to the relevant department, but advisor seemed to have an answer for everything. Apparently it is not company policy that a copy of the contract is provided to both parties invovled. All communication has been incredibly slow and difficult. I will not be using a gym again that uses Ashbourne Membership Management. Edit: Company replied but did not acknowledge failure to provide contract.
