Poor after sales
Poor after sales experience. Bought an expensive pair of Chloe espadrilles which arrived in decent time and well packaged in mid may 2023. Loved the shoes and have been wearing them for the last few weeks. I suddenly noticed over the weekend that the stitching to the back seam is coming apart. I’m devastated. Not only because the shoes are so new but also because it looks noticeable and it will probably happen to the other seams. Also I was wanting to wear these on holiday etc. This is clearly a manufacturing fault, contacted Browns who asked for detailed photos of both shoes and have decided from this that it is wear and tear and not manufacturing. They have offered £20 refund. I have had quotes from specialist repair companies of £75 and up to repair the stitching, Browns are not interested. I have asked do they have a recommended repair company that I could use, they never provided an answer. They just want to pay the £20 and close the case. I want Chloe informed that their very expensive shoes are not fit for purpose and browns advised me they wouldn’t help me either because the sale was through browns and not Chloe directly. So I’m stuck with a £400 pair of faulty shoes that I now can’t wear and have to pay through the nose to repair. And that will probably develop further stitching issues. I would have expected an easier way to resolve this though I guess it’s very much a buyer beware scenario. I wouldn’t recommend the shoes or the retailer
