Training kit thrown out by GymPlus Rathfarnham
I joined GymPlus in Nutgrove over a year ago and I found the Gym to be good and didn’t have any issues. Unfortunately I hurt my back and couldn’t attend the Gym but I continued to pay my subscription. In December 2024 I called into the gym and placed my gym kit in the locker as I intended to return to the gym the following day. Due to unforeseen circumstances I did not attend the gym over the following few weeks and I called back in February to find the locker that I had placed my training kit had been broken into by the staff of GymPlus. I fully understand that lockers are not owned by any member and that they are only to be used when one attends the gym. GymPlus threw all my gym kit out and I have asked the Manager Frank in Nutgrove to send me photos of where the signs are located confirming that one’s training kit would be thrown out if not claimed within a certain time. I have no issue if the signs are clearly displayed but I never saw any signs and I would have thought they would be clearly visible. I had a brand new pair of ASICS trainers along with my Fit Bit watch, training gear, good quality bag and a diary with all my personal details however GymPlus disposed of it all without contacting me. I would totally understand it being thrown out if it smelt but it was clean and never used. GymPlus in Nutgrove refuse to converse with me and all I want to know is where the signs are located confirming that if you leave your training gear in your locker and it’s not claimed over a certain amount of time then it will be thrown out. I think it’s a very genuine query and why they won’t respond beggars belief. I would have thought they would hold onto one’s bag in storage for a minimum of two months but seemingly not.
