My father and I started the process of buying a property.
I and my father started the process just before Christmas. But due to Holidays, the (so called), process didn't start till very early 2025: It should have been a straightforward sale, between the seller and myself. It was a cash transaction. Our first problem, enact solicitor was given the wrong sellers contact details. I cannot blame her for this. But it was only when I complained that the seller solicitor had not been contacted by my solicitor, that this was sorted. The fact that we had to complain brings competence into question. Then we come to the finance management team. It seems that they were unable to comprehend that not all people trust banks. Hence, when the money was placed into the bank (Cash), the finance team asked for proof of were the money came from. Not just once but three times: bank statements, proof of savings and interests earned in the past. When we explained that the bank involved had very strict rules and had verified where the money came from. Yet, still their finance team seemed not to believe us. We asked them to contact the SCA, as by this time we were near the end of March. It was only when a senior member of enact became involved that this whole debacle was sorted. And the sale was not sorted until April. So, if you want a straightforward sale, with people who can understand persons actions and ask for the right information, (not keep on asking and asking, but not knowing what they are asking for). Go elsewhere, enact maybe reasonable, cost wise. But in our case, added an extra £1500.00. PLEASE NOTE: MY FATHER funded some of the funds for myself: Paul David Sullivan
