“En” counter staff
I went to our local post office counter in Selsey this morning at 9 am to post my wife’s renewal form for her driver’s licence. I went especially early to avoid any waiting queues . After waiting for a lady to come behind the desk to serve me, two people were already in the queue behind me. I told the lady that I wanted to send the driver’s license request by recorded delivery and that I would need to enter the recorded number to the form before being stuck down. Simple eh? She informed me that, Royal Mail no longer do recorded delivery letters and haven’t done so for years. I was a bit perplexed by her answer, and said I had sent letters recorded delivery recently elsewhere and her reply was to go to where I had sent them before and send my letter. It’s funny though; the dvla form has it printed that “recorded delivery number “ is to be printed in the blank box? Her reply was that the dvla forms were printed years ago and haven’t kept up with the changes made. Anyway I managed to get the letter posted, by tracking service £2.80. I must say I do not like going to the post office at the best of times, as I find the staff can be somewhat condescending. On leaving the premises I overheard laughter coming from the counter area, which I presume were the women present there. At least I made someone’s day
