Jewels of Spain
This was our first holiday for 18 months after my husband was unable to get travel insurance due to illness. We chose the tour as it was a mixture of excursions and free time, showing easy going pace on your website. The excursions to places such as València, Cartagena, Granada were well paced allowing those whose mobility was not as good as others to keep up and enjoy the sites. Our tour manager Nina was exceptional. Her organisational skills were excellent. She always made sure everyone knew what was expected and went out of her way to help those who needed it. We knew exactly what the arrangements for each day were. The best tour manager we have ever had. Hotels on the whole were good with good food choices, although the Hotel in Águilas was a long way from the town and there was no where to sit and socialise inside after dinner, only in a cold reception area with limited seating. Titan may have to rethink the Hotel in Salobrena. It is obviously used by Saga guests who spend a long time there. It is a long way from the town and we were taken in on the shuttle bus (running every other day) on one morning and having to return in time for lunch. Paths around the hotel were steep and rocky and not suitable for many of the guests who wanted a walk. However, an afternoon reading in the sunshine was very welcome. Food choices were a little more limited than at the other hotels. The hotel had a power cut one evening and the attitude of the hotel was that it would be repaired ‘when it was repaired’. We were given a different room for the night, but having to collect belongings in the pitch dark was no joke, even the emergency lighting was not working. Nina was extremely helpful in getting us another room. I think 4 couples were affected. We did have a really good time and are looking to book another tour for the Autumn.
