Shocking service and Data Breach
Shocking service, likely data breach, and zero accountability I signed up with Lyca Mobile in February for a 30-day unlimited rolling SIM. What I received was another customer's SIM card. When I contacted customer service because the SIM didn’t work, I was told I failed the security checks — because the SIM belonged to someone else. It took over 30 minutes of arguing before the agent finally realised that the phone number on the SIM didn’t match the account I had signed up for. The incorrect SIM was eventually blocked and a new one was sent out. But now, someone has accessed my account and upgraded it to a 12-month contract — something I never requested and absolutely did not agree to. I only needed the SIM for a short period. Customer service has been completely useless, repeatedly fobbing me off and insisting I must have upgraded it, which is simply untrue. There has clearly been a data breach or internal error at Lyca Mobile, and they do not care. I’ve asked for logs and an investigation, but so far all they’ve done is deny responsibility.
