Where to start Winn Assist and Accident Claim Helpline. My parents thought they were calling their insurance company after Googling the number only to be ringing Accident Claim Helpline and passed through to Winn Assist. Their vehicle was total loss, the vehicle is a convertible and the roof wouldn't go back up, they said it would be collected that night only for nobody to turn up. The vehicle waa collected the next day and a hire vehicle provided. The hire vehicle was collected when they went on holiday which is understandable but when they arrived home on the 17.5.25 to today 27.5.25, no hire has been provided and no offer made to settle the total loss. We have called our insurance company today, only to be told there is no claim set up on their system and when Googling the number for the insurance company, it's the the number of the Accident management company that comes up and as my parents are elderly, plus just had an accident so in a vulnerable position they just went along with everything. I called Winn Assist and was told by a Claim handler that a payment pack has been sent to the TP insurer and we would have to await reimbursement from them before we get paid out and that would be weeks or months. Plus we haven't even been told what they value the vehicle at and if we would accept the value. So my parents now have borrowed money to buy a car as they didn't have a hire car and not been paid out for theirs and if could be months until they are reimbursed and even then they may not get what the vehicle is worth as we don't know or haven't been informed of the value. Absolutely disgusting they way these companies pray on and treat vulnerable people.
