Make Sure You Know What You’re Paying For
The My Cruises agents did not explain our package and lead us to believe we had invested in an all expenses paid holiday. Our agent sold us a package that was to include meals, drinks and gratuities. When we went to the bar after arriving on board, we were told our drinks package did not include the drinks we ordered!!!! Meals were the same - public dining room only. The restaurants that were not included only offered a set menu and cost on average 110.00USD pp. We still paid gratuities when we bought items or used the salon, laundry services and fine dining restaurants. All prices onb are in USD!!! Everywhere else Euro. Don’t get sucked in to the River Cruise add on unless you are fit and able or travelling with someone strong. Imagine lugging a months worth of luggage onto a train and then being told to take it upstairs coz you’re booked in a 2nd Storey carriage!!! Not fun. We had to pay our own transfers from the Cruise ship to accomodation in Barcelona then transfers from Barcelona Hotel to Train Station. There was no assistance with luggage or information about the trains, just a ticket then every man for himself. The cost of transfers were horrendous because you are a captive group desperate to get to your accomodation or departure port and the prices can be between 22.00-70.00 Euro It cost a small fortune. Accomodation was less than 3star by Aussie Standards not 4.5 as My cruises promote. Breakfasts were below average, rooms were very small and again you pay for your laundry which averages at 8:00Euro for a t-shirt!!! All in all we would not recommend MyCruises or ever use them again.
