Misleading Fixed Fee Policy
I approached DC Law for Conveyancing Services because their website advertised a Fixed Fee Policy—"Our fees won’t change unless your instructions do." That sounded reassuring, especially after having been stung by hidden charges in past transactions. However, after several emails trying to clarify what this meant in practice, it became obvious that the "fixed fee" only applies to a small part of the overall cost (the basic legal fee). In reality, they reserve the right to add numerous additional fees, regardless of whether your instructions change or not. When I offered to provide full details of the transaction upfront to lock in a fee, they refused. This is not a true fixed fee—it's a standard estimate with the usual vague disclaimers and hidden extras. The way they present it is, in my opinion, misleading. If you're looking for genuine clarity and transparency in pricing, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.
