What a holiday! Peru was a contrast of culture and history with stunning scenery and wildlife. Centuries-old structures alongside natural phenomena contributed to an enthralling experience - historic ruins, floating islands, volcanoes, condors gliding on thermals … simply astounding. Our Tour Manager in Peru, Efrain, was brilliant - he organised, coordinated and guided with skill and valuable knowledge. He always appeared to be one step ahead of whatever was happening and was determined that everything would run smoothly. The guides who accompanied us at the various sites were excellent, clearly invested in their subject and passionate about sharing it with others. Mainland Ecuador was eye-opening and the excursions different and interesting - highlights in Quito included the decorative Jesuit Church and a visit to the Middle of the World Monument. Out of the capital, there was a walk in the beautiful Cotacachi Cayapas National Park and a fascinating visit to a rose plantation. The Galápagos Islands were magical with the impressive landscapes and the incredible wildlife making it an unforgettable experience. Our Tour Manager in Ecuador, Maria Esther was wonderful - she was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and always made sure that everyone was alright and had what they needed. She went above and beyond to give us an insight into the country, providing opportunities to see and try traditional wares (chocolate and cheese tasting, traditional attire etc), and was well organised with itinerary details and necessary paperwork. Hotels and transport on this tour were all of a high standard and the optional excursions were a valuable addition. This truly was an amazing adventure.
