These people are scammers
These people are scammers. We got stuck with having Reliance equipment in the home we bought, the contract was pushed onto us as the new home owners. The original owners had the equipment for 5 years then it we were forced to take on the contract. During this time we had an eight day period with the furnace broke down while they were trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Now that we are having a new furnace installed they want to charge us a $700 fee for the removal, the furnace installer did the removal when they did the new install. this is just a money grab that is in the fine print and they know that this will make it difficult to coordinate the removal with the install without having the heat turned off for a significant duration of time. The Competition Bureau had a settlement against Reliance for 5.5 million for the business practices in 2014.
