Rip off
Rip offI recently had a very frustrating experience with My Cruises regarding a cancellation. I had initially booked a four-week Athens to New York cruise with Virgin Voyages for November. Unfortunately, I discovered I was pregnant and would be past the cutoff for traveling with Virgin Voyages, so I needed to cancel. I contacted My Cruises immediately when I was just four weeks pregnant, and, although no flights or accommodations had been booked yet, my total fee was paid less than a week prior. At that time, I was informed that the cancellation fee would be $2,500. I requested this information in writing but never received it despite following up multiple times. To my dismay, I later learned that the cancellation fee had risen to $4,500—almost double what I had originally been told. This unexpected change is particularly frustrating given that the cancellation was due to my pregnancy, which was not a planned event. My Cruises’ customer service was unresponsive and provided poor excuses for the increase. They cited fluctuations in an internal airfare currency (NUC), which they claimed could vary daily. However, since I had called to cancel on the day I found out about my pregnancy and the cancellation was not processed immediately, I believe this fluctuation is an unfair charge to place on me. Overall, My Cruises’ lack of clear communication and the substantial increase in the cancellation fee have left me feeling extremely dissatisfied. I would strongly advise others to be cautious and ensure they receive written confirmation of any cancellation terms and fees
