Disappointed by Conduct and Pressure Tactics During Dispute

We are a small healthcare organisation currently in a formal dispute with Consultiv Utilities over a substantial default fee for a contract that never went live. Despite no service being received, they are aggressively pursuing payment. Our new supplier confirmed there was no conflict or objection at the time of switch, suggesting the brokered contract was not properly secured. Consultiv refused to issue a deadlock letter and began issuing legal threats instead of engaging in any form of genuine dialogue. We are escalating the matter to the Energy Ombudsman. Other reviewers appear to have had similar experiences, we urge caution before entering into any agreement. UPDATE: In response to Consultiv’s reply, I want to clarify that I have not accepted liability for any breach of contract, nor did I knowingly agree to a duplicate supply. The gas supply was taken over by another supplier without any objection or warning from ENGIE or Consultiv at the time. I continue to dispute the claim and have raised this matter with the Energy Ombudsman. My concerns remain focused on the lack of communication, the disproportionate fee being pursued, and the pressure applied rather than constructive engagement. Others considering similar services should seek clear, documented guidance before proceeding with broker agreements.
