Beercocks Estate Agents

Terrible experience
Reading the reviews I feel I had similar issues to others. Firstly, Beercocks valued my house £20,000 less than two other local estate agents. I rang up to query this and I was told the man who made the evaluation ‘really knew his stuff, the area and the market’. Although I didn’t agree with their pricing, I decided to go ahead with them but at the other estate agents valuations purely because the house I was purchasing was also listed with Beercocks. Within a week of my house been on the market I had three full asking price offers. I’ve only ever purchased two houses but I feel like paying asking price is almost unheard of in the housing market?! I was obviously happy that my house had sold but furious at the fact that Beercocks had said is was worth £20,000 less than what it sold for. I am so pleased that I stuck with my guns and instructed them to put the higher price. Issue number two was arranging viewings. People turned up at my house without an agent having been given a time to view my house. I advised Beercocks that I was happy to help with viewings if they could not attend however I would assume they would notify me rather than just have people turn up at my house. Another issue is that within the company it felt like I was ‘passed around’ as such. This issue may have caused the mess up with the viewings I guess. For a short period of time I knew I could contact Danielle however sadly she left and it seemed after that no one really knew what was happening. Moving day turned out to be the final issue. My house sold fine- I wasn’t in a chain however when I came to move into my new property I was left waiting until early afternoon. This sounds normal however it turns out they had the keys and we were actually good to go from around 10am. Lack of communication between the staff at Beercocks meant yet again, no one knew what was going on. Someone was on holiday ( I can’t remember the name) and that meant no one realised we were all set to go. It took around 5 phone calls from both my partner and I before they realised they were keeping us sat waiting (with the hired van) for no reason at all. I’d do anything in my power not to have to work alongside Beercocks again. I let a house out in the local area and the plan was to use this one company for buying, selling and letting. I soon changed my mind! I don’t understand how the company as a whole is so incompetent and yet still functioning to some extent. I’m sure there must be some great staff members there but sadly, I didn’t have the pleasure of communicating with them. Do yourself a favour and use a different estate agents!
