Disappointing Handling of Damaged Luggage
I recently flew with Aegean Airlines from Athens to Thessaloniki and was asked to check in my hand luggage due to overcrowding on the flight. I agreed, trusting that my bag would be handled carefully. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I discovered that the front side of my luggage was severely dented and dirty, far beyond what could be considered "normal wear and tear." Despite having photographic evidence showing the bag in perfect condition before boarding, Aegean Airlines refused to accept responsibility, citing their policy of requiring immediate reporting at the airport. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, I feel the airline showed no flexibility or understanding of my situation. Their response was dismissive, and no effort was made to address or resolve the issue. For anyone flying with Aegean Airlines, I recommend being cautious about checking in your hand luggage and documenting everything thoroughly. My experience suggests that customer service may not prioritize resolving such issues fairly. I hope Aegean Airlines will reconsider their approach to customer concerns in the future.
