Topcar - Avoid Avoid Avoid
Topcar. Avoid Avoid Avoid! I decided not to take the insurance they offered (which it seems to cover wheels, damage under the car and similar). The lady at the desk told me that a holding fee as a deposit will be retained in my credit card. (over £600). Well, this is not held, in fact this is charged to your credit card. I should have been informed about this. When I called to address this, I was dismissed by the lady who answered the call by saying that this was the company's policy and nothing she could do about it. I explained that what would it happen if I didn't have the £600 to pay upfront to my credit card company to avoid interest charge. Pretty much the answer .. this is not their problem. Another man, who refused to give his name, took over the call and in a very rude manner and unprofessional attitude, told me the same... but this time adding if it wasn't happy to bring the car and cancel the contract. I was shocked by his approach to something very simple..... I should have been informed when I picked up the car. Topcar staff need to undertake a good customer service training and complaints workshop. Rude and unhelpful people. I would never rent again from them. (I had another issue, where I have to call out the tow truck - they were going to charge me for this. My question to them .... if not like I was involved in a crash. Your product was faulty, you need to replace it, why should I pay for that?) White gloves thieves!!! Avoid Avoid Avoid! Cicar more expensive, never had a trouble with them!
