Avoid at all costs - Prestwich branch
On the 11th July 2022 I received confirmation that my offer on a property had been accepted. As of 17th January 2023, I am no further to moving into the property than I was over 6 months ago. Since July, Thornley Groves have provided misleading and false information. There is a tenant currently in the property I am purchasing. On the 7th September, I was told the section 21 notice had been served to the tenant and court proceedings had started. This was in fact a lie, or at best complete incompetence a failure to check facts. Court proceedings actually didn't start until 14th December, over 3 months later. If the truth had been told to me back in July, I could have looked for another property and been in my own home by now. The incompetence of Thornley Groves has cost me solicitors fees and mortgage broker fees. By the agent's own agent's admission, ‘paperwork wasn’t checked.’ The property was never available to be purchased, the appropriate paperwork was never checked, and at every step, to cover their incompetence, they lied. Whether you're are selling, buying or renting, avoid at all costs.
