unreliable home delivery and frustrating support processes
Extremely disappointed with Halfords' home delivery service. My order is now 3 days late and counting from the "on or before" date quoted at checkout with zero updates or tracking to let me know what's going on. Still just on the 'preparing your delivery' stage Tried to chase it up both through live chat and call, only to find there's no proper way to escalate without waiting another 3 days after submitting an initial complaint. Call centre staff were generally polite and empathetic, but ultimately didn't follow through on anything they promised, repeating there was nothing they could do except leave extra notes on my case and trying to nudge me off the line. As the customer, you can't contact the logistics team directly, so you're left completely in the dark with no real updates. In the end, I had to cancel the order and sort it myself by collecting the item from a different shop. An unnecessarily frustrating experience from start to finish. Will avoid at all costs in the future. Ironically, when trying to cancel the order because of the above, it was said that its too far along the dispatch process to stop it now, despite not even having a courier number yet. So I just have to wait for it to needlessly be delivered to my house just for me to refuse it.
