Disappointing

We attempted to sell our home with Emsleys over a period of 4 months, but overall had a poor experience. The initial contact with them was positive but afterwards we ran into loads of issues. Photos of our property were poor and blurry, so much so we had to retake them ourselves. Communication from Emsleys throughout was sparse, with little to no updates on anything unless we made contact ourselves, despite being promised weekly updates. We received many viewings on our property but no offers during that time. A lot of the issues stemmed from viewers seemingly not being vetted before being allowed to view. On 4 occasions we had people arrive at the property and inform us they had no idea if they could even afford the house as they’d not even spoken to their bank. Emsleys assured us that they do question prospective buyers prior to a viewing but this happened far too many times, and was a huge waste of time. Emsleys assured us they were pushing our property on social media, yet the only reference we could find on any social media page was from December, several months earlier. We even had a viewing booked in at our property for someone who didn’t even want to view our property, but another house entirely, that looked nothing like ours. I appreciate that Emsleys are among the cheaper estate agents with regards to their fees, but we just felt like they could’ve done more to ensure the quality of the prospective buyers was better and that they could at least afford the property. They also showed a lack of care and could’ve done a lot more to advertise our home. The staff in the branch were all very friendly and approachable, and we have no issues with anyone personally, but I cannot say that the experience with Emsleys was a good one and I cannot recommend Emsleys I’m afraid.
