Wouldn't trust them with even a postcard...

Sent a birthday present for my nephew 1st Class signed for. Advertised as 1-2 days, when it didn't arrive in time for his birthday, 4 days later, I phoned the post office to be told it could take up to 15 days and, that if it hadn't arrived by then, I could make a claim. It didn't arrive, I put in a complaint and was given a link to the claim form. After 3 attempts to complete the form, all due to the recapture 'I am not a robot' not working, I gave up. The post office's response to me was that 'signed for' is not a trackable service. They basically put the blame on me for using a cheaper service than one that is fully tracked. The fact that I paid them for a service they're incompetent to deliver, isn't apparently the issue. Their response was almost resigned to the fact that mail goes missing regularly and they don't have control of the situation. The tracking still says "We've got it" and they certainly have, they stole the gift I sent and the postage value.
