DHL poor service, poor communication, poor result.
I thought DHL shipping company had a reputable name, but my recent experience showed they were lacking. On the 3 September 24 I dispatched a large valuable package to Germany, cost £93:19. I completed the on-line application, including customs declaration. My cost included home collection. On the 11 September 24 my package was returned to me, without explanation. I have tried at least three times to complain directly to DHL via email. There is a telephone number which is automaton based, unfortunately it kept ending the call. I received an automatic reply to my email, saying I would be contacted by a member of staff within three working days. To my frustration no one contacted me. To my surprise I received a refund of cost, minus £8.50. No explanation provided. I realise the modern trend is online purchasing. It reduces cost to the company and supposedly makes for an easier life to the customer. Not so in my case. I am of the older generation, that would like to talk to a person, should the system to fail. A breakdown in communication with DHL. Considering my package was destined for Germany and DHL is a German company, I thought that was the best option, which turned out to be a very bad experience. DHL, I shall be using one of your competitors. Thank you.
