Home Bargains Long Eaton…
Just been in Home Bargains Long Eaton buying bird food. Went to buy a large bag of peanuts as well, which were advertised at about £6.50. We got to the till and our total bill came to £35. The peanuts came through at £22. The manager went to look and said there were 2 prices under the peanuts and someone must have put the wrong product in the space. The second price was hidden by other products so not obviously seen. Ok, human error. However under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 it is illegal to charge the higher price when a lower is advertised. The Manager was having none of this so I left, after becoming very frustrated. The Manager refused to sell the peanuts at the advertised price - whilst this is clearly a human error, and this does happen, perhaps management should understand that lower prices are what products should be sold at (if 2 prices are shown).
