El Cheapo - the s**t wagon
Not a bad vehicle when you look at it. Even quite surprising considering the vehicle we booked had 440,000km on the odometer (Queensland Plates - 161LUM). But then you drive it.... I call the need for a wheel alignment the alert safety feature as if you take your attention away from anything but driving for less than a second, the vehicle veers to the left. Bed padding is old, worn down, and is need of replacing. Doesn't make for a great sleep overall. No dish soap was left for us in our van to clean any of the dishes we used, which must have been why some of the dishes were dirty when we hired the van. Fuel economy on the El Cheapo was horrendous. Sure, the vehicle has 440,000km on it, but whatever money you saved on the rental is going straight into the gas tank. We used 3 tanks of petrol for 1000km of driving. Should have just rented a newer van with better economy in hindsight. All being said, it was reliable and never had an issue during our 3 nights and 4 days. Just could have been a better quality rental.
