Trip of a Lifetime to Australia
A 45 day trip to Australia from UK, to see as much as we could in areas likely to be 30 degrees C or less - we are not good with very hot weather! Time of year to coincide with family wedding in Perth, and a list of things we would like to see and do. Handed the planning and organising to Audley, via Jindy, and sat back. It all happened for me, with friendly planning discussions, options thrashed out to make the best of our time. The result was Perth, Sydney, Tasmania, Melbourne, Great Coast Road Self Drive, Grampians, Adelaide , Kangaroo Island and back to Perth. Every pick up, tour, plane, boat and train happened as described. We joined activities trips and tours with different operators, chosen because of their expertise and standards, thus meeting different travellers on every trip, so no chance of the "group tour clique-iness" we have experienced during some holidays with other companies.We felt supported throughout, with an amazing printed detailed itinerary to take with us, an App, that worked offline and SMS updates of what was happening 24 hours before it did. However, it was so light a touch, that it felt as if I had organised it all myself, with no sense of being pushed through a tight itinerary by a company. All accomodation was diverse, from the quirky to the luxurious, from the "city convenient" to isolated wildlife locations, accessing accommodations I would not have known existed. Our interests of outdoors, photography, wildlife and adventure were listened to, and catered for. Food experiences were also amazing - some "arranged" but most left to us, with suggestions included in the itinerary book. It was also great that the specialist who looked after us had been to many of the locations and accommodations herself, and so they were chosen with first hand experience by her for us. Audley were also happy to build in time for us to spend with a friend in Adelaide, and family in Perth, which were days left free for us to use as we wished. A truly amazing tailor- made experience, that I certainly could not have achieved without this expert help. Highly recommended, and extremely likely to use them again
