Speedy Freight Tonbridge

Weds 25th 2023 - We were heading up to Sheffield from Kent to collect some valuable parcels. Our 4 day old, 2015 but new to us car blew a head gasket doing 50 on the M25 anti-clockwise at 6.30am. Rain and cold was an issue, exceptionally heavy traffic was an issue, long recovery period was an issue, etc. Plenty of time to arrange a 3rd party courier to do the collection using our phones on the net. 3 x parcels - one 45kg, one 30kg the other 15kg. Wanted a direct courier, but could accept a 24 hour delivery. Royal Mail - NO, Parcel Force - NO, DPD - NO, Evri - NO, DX - NO. No-one wanted the business, but were happy to quote up to £875 for the privilege of saying NO. Came across Speedy Freight. Simple online data input - parcel dimensions x 3, weights, collection point (Sheffield), delivery point (Gravesend), promises to collect within 1 hour of ordering, (Yeah, right.), input email address. Send. Literally seconds later, Clare from the Tonbridge office emails with a price, and that same bold claim - we'll collect within 1 hour, delivery estimated 3.5 to 4 hours later. Price was too good to be true, so queried it, and the delivery timeframe claim. No, she hasn't made a mistake, collect from S8 Sheffield within an hour, deliver Gravesend within 3.5 to 4 hours for the price quoted. Accepted the deal, she pinged a payment invoice over, paid the bill by card (protected that way says the wife), and waited for the excuses. By now, we've been collected by a truck, and are on route back to Gravesend. Forgot all about the parcels then, what with unloading the car at garage, limping it to a parking place, getting back from there to a car hire agency, then home to a much anticipated coffee, and with a sigh of relief that the mission was over, feet up. Short time later, pinged Clare an email asking about live tracking info. She confirms still on schedule. Short while after that, email from Clare saying driver may be delayed, hitting traffic at St Albans - here we go I thought. Short time after that the doorbell goes, and its the Speedy Freight driver with the first of the parcels in hand!! Thought you were going to be delayed I say. Nah he says, found a way round. We are not special. We are not wealthy. The service Speedy provided Wednesday was not, in their everyday professional world, special. It was routine. Not to us. It was a professional service from first contact to waving the delivery driver off. That it was achieved at the price we were charged and within the delivery timespan was in itself outstanding. Would we recommend Speedy? WITHOUT HESITATION. Its a sadness that we are not in a position any longer to make commercial use of Speedy, WE WOULD. Special thanks to Clare at Tonbridge - professionalism of the highest order.
