I had a terrible experience with Leaf…
I had a terrible experience with Leaf Home Water Solutions. The company is unethical and their team is disingenuous at best. I would avoid this company at all costs. Here is what happened. I had a sales person (“B”) swing by conduct the water test and provide me with a quote for a while home conditioner system and for a tankless RO system. He then says if I buy it right there the price would be $3500 and $1500 respectively OR if I call later it would be $9600 and $5000 respectively. I wasn’t ready to purchase the system the same day so called the sales person back a 4 days later and was told they would honor the same price. The Sales person shows up with a contract. I decided against doing the RO system because I did not want to drill a hole into the quartzite kitchen countertop. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the written quote and didn’t remember the price of the Conditioner system. The sales person said it was $4100 and I signed the contract. The system was installed the next day. The day of installation, I found the quote and told the installer that the price in the contract ought to be updated. Unfortunately the installer is just a contract plumber and said he could’t do anything. I escalated the issue to “E” who is the ops manager and explained the issue. He was condescending and rude. He basically said nothing can be done and the price in the quote was wrong. I asked E to escalate to his management team and he said they would. I followed up with E a few days later and was told that his management reviewed the quote and the quote was wrong and they will stick to the price of $4100. While I’m out $600, I feel it’s more important to warn the general public about the manner in which the team handled the issue and the deceptive sales practices they follow. Besides the price issue there were some other things to call out 1. Salesperson B lied and said the installer is a company employee. That is false. The installer is a plumber for hire who needs to pay for all the materials (except the filter). The plumber was a good bloke and was telling me how the company just asks them to buy the cheapest material from Home Depot 2. The Salesperson showed me a picture of the device and also pointed me to the owners manual online. However the system in the picture isn’t what the company sent. The system didn’t have the electric head with the digital display as shown on the website. The Ops manager E said the website is wrong and corporate needs to update the site. 3. I tested the water Post install and the system only marginally improved the water quality. 4. The sales person / the company keep saying the Conditioner system treats hard water but that’s simply untrue. 5. The company makes you sign a binding arbitration agreement which is odd since they are trying to avoid being sued. Overall my experience with the company was terrible and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the State AG’s office regarding the deceptive sales practices.
