Positive to counter the negative here -Gran Canaria branch
After reading the reviews, I was a bit nervous about Hiring a car from TopCar. Sometimes, only people who have had a bad experience leave reviews. But, I had left it really late to hire a car for a week in Gran Canaria, choice was limited and the cost of some of the big international brands was double that of TopCar. I took the extra "super cover" insurance as I always do now, having been charged a lot years ago by another rental company in the UK for a hub cap. Pickup took about 20 mins queue, not as long as some other queues looked, not as short as others. Staff were efficient, polite, spoke great english, and had great patience as there are some quite rude and impatient customers. In my opinion, it's worth a little longer queue as the price was so competitive. Car had a couple of dings already, so we just took plenty of pictures between us, just in case. Everything went smoothly, there is a filling station at the airport to return car full. Returning at the airport is, for all rental firms, a little chaotic as signage could be better and the car park is very busy,finding a space in the right area can be a challenge, that's the only reason for 4 stars. Maybe allow an extra 30 mins to drop car back. Staff on return were great, very easy to just hand over keys. Overall, allow for a bit of extra time for pickup and drop-off, prepare to have a little patience with the nice staff who are doing their best, and remember you are probably saving money over the more expensive providers.
