AVOID…AVOID…AVOID….even if it if FREE!
Well… let’s start with a positive! The ECO4 grant, is a great scheme for people to improve the heating efficiency of their homes, without any cost to you. Unfortunately, after having the misfortune of using CES to carry out our installation, there simply are no more positives to add. Where do I start! … I normally do my research before I buy anything or have any work done at our property, but fell into the trap of advertising and false promises in this instance unfortunately! How a certain “Brand ambassador” can put his name to this company is simply shocking! Regardless of how big the payment is, surely you would have some morals and would disassociate yourself after reading these dreadful reviews. I think it says a lot, that out of 2224 reviews, at the time of writing, 10% are only 1 star. Let’s put that into perspective, that’s 222 homes that’s had a shockingly bad experience with CES. How on earth can the senior management allow this to happen! Our experience started last November when I first completed the short online initial application. About a week later, the office called to say that I was eligible for the ECO4 grant and then the fun started! The initial bombardment of daily calls from the office staff ‘to get you on the hook’ was intense. They will tell you exactly what you want to hear, tell blatant lies and promise you anything. I can only imagine what it’s like there and we now know it’s simply no more than call centre and the ‘upfront staff’ must be on some kind of commission or bonus scheme to get you to commit! We had our initial survey carried out in November / December last year, and then I was pressured into having the work started before Christmas, as I was told if I didn’t, then the government was pulling the grants for people who have LPG in their homes, and we would miss out. I have the names of the people that I spoke to and apparently “all calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes”… clearly there’s not much monitoring or training going on ! I could write a fully diarised and detailed review on our daily experiences with CES, but quite honestly, I’d be typing all day and there’s simply not enough space allowed on here. In a summarised review, the installation that we were told would take 10 days, has been going on for 4 months. The disorganisation is beyond belief and the quality of our installation is shocking. The CES quality assurance manager from the Technical and Compliance department was absolutely shocked at what he witnessed here and took over 40 photos of defects and a wrote a very lengthy report. He was actually at home for 5 hours! However, even he promised that we would be receiving phone calls from the office the following week, but still nothing after a month! I emailed David Williams several times, who is apparently the complaints contact. He didn’t even have the courtesy to reply. The office never answers the phone, so are a complete waste of time. This company has simply grown very quickly, have taken on far to much work, have no management that can cope, office staff that are clueless and they really don’t work within the requirements of the accreditations that they claim to have. I’m sure there are companies out there that are very good at what they do, so please do your research before going ahead and AVOID this company at all costs!! Now CES…. please don’t both to reply to this review with your patronising, stock answer response! If you take the time to look at the reports, emails on your system and everything that’s gone wrong here, then a simple acknowledgement that you messed up, got it wrong and an apology will suffice. I’ll now correct all of your defects myself and pay proper companies and tradespeople to rectify the damage caused by CES and learn a valuable lesson about not doing my own research in advance!
