The collection vehicle was late
The collection vehicle was late. It was also booked with a tail lift and shoring bar as the load is on wheeled cages. When it did arrive, the driver informed me that the tail lift didn’t work and it wasn’t booked to have a tail lift with it. Once loaded, the driver didn’t have a shoring bar or the correct straps (2nd best scenario). Eventually, he found some straps but the hooks were too big to fit in the load lok rail. I had to provide my own straps to ensure load security. Instead of heading to his destination as planned, he had to go to base to get the tail lift fixed. This meant the delivery was outside of the operating hours of our customer so delivery took place the following day.
