Very poor experience with my solicitor…
Very poor experience with my solicitor on what should have been a relatively straightforward remortgage with Help To Buy....has turned into a nightmare with delay over 3 months costing me hundreds of pounds extra on the SVR and interest payments on HTB! The communication has been poor and slow, the portal (what's the point of this?) hasn't been updated. No urgency whatsoever and a change of solicitors half way and ended up with a worse one. I'm finding myself having to manage and navigate things. The current solicitor just doesn't seem to care. Things still aren't resolved, I've had to get multiple extensions on a valuation and very stressed that I'm going to miss the mortgage application deadline (which was given 6 months!). Do not go with these guys and save yourself the hassle.
