My very first claim was denied
My very first claim was denied. The mechanic shop was surprised as it was a legitimate claim. So I called Endurance to discuss my claim. The lady I spoke with told me it was not a covered repair! She would not elaborate and was very rude. She said it was in the contract. At that point I realized I had never received a copy of my contract. She said she would send one; and she did. After reading the contract, there it was, my part that failed was listed as a covered repair. I called Endurance a second time and was met by yet another rude lady who said the part was not covered. She said it wasn’t even though it was listed as a covered part. I tried to reason with her and even read that part of the contract to her but she was deaf ears. She spouted off some canned speech similar to the first person I spoke with but was speaking so fast I didn’t grasp most of it. Well, I read and reread my contract and the stipulations concerning claims. At that point I saw how they could deny practically all claims. That’s how I read it. In the meantime I spoke with my mechanic again and read exactly the part Endurance said was covered and he said that’s exactly what was replaced. I even called another mechanic shop and he agreed that was in fact the part! So, with clarification in hand I called Endurance a third time. I got another matter-of-fact rude person who said it wasn’t covered and that was that! If I had an opportunity to read the contract before signing up I NEVER would have! Their wording is very carefully crafted to make it easy for them to deny claims. For example: if your rear differential fails they will ask for maintenance records to see if your differential was serviced at the recommended mileage mad stated in your vehicles owners manual. If it goes out at 100,000 miles and you either did not service your differential at X miles or you had it serviced well beyond the recommended mileage they will probably deny your claim. I’m canceling my contract as I have no trust in Endurance! You’re not going to believe this this but you have to fill out their termination form AND HAVE IT NOTARIZED!!!!! I strongly believe this to be a tactic to make it difficult to cancel and hopefully some or most people will just forget it and keep the contract because going to a notary costs money and is a hassle. This further supports my view of Endurance being a scam in my opinion.
