3 months later not a single window fitted correctly. Save yourself the stress and emotional…

Save yourself the stress and emotional torment - go elsewhere. Job was started 17 May 2021 with 4 days allocated to replace 9 windows, back door, front door and replace a window with double doors. Fitters seemed only interested in being off site by 1430 each day. One window had only half the glass, double doors were damaged (frame and doors) but only noticed AFTER cutting the hole in the house. Door reveals were a botch from the start - looks like the open ends of the wall were dressed with trim panels with a couple of spots of silicone. Another window's glass was broken. After leaving, a long list of faults was discovered and fed back to the Newark office. Assessor came out, agreed job was not up to standard... took some photos and a list. Plasterer came to repair the walls and failed looking exasperated at what he was having to dress. Walls still unfinished around the double doors to this day (14 August 2021). 10 June expected fitters did not show. 12 June, one fitter shows and couldn't understand why he was sent alone for the number of faults needing rectification and allocated only half the day with another job to go to. Fitter listed more faults that he could see with the fitting which we were not aware of (technical). First assessor revisits - agrees new double doors and frame are required and that all the other faults will be fixed - including a piece of glass for the front composite door he claimed would be coming from abroad (remember this). Discovers that the double doors are practically open to the elements hence the draught coming from the gaps in the render applied to the reveal by the "plasterer". Calls later and informs us double doors are ordered and will be in the yard in a week. Having no confidence the windows had been fitted correctly, we asked that an inspection under the outer sealant be made. This was agreed. 3 July - Fitter arrives without double doors. Checks under sealant to discover the windows are held in with a few screws and nothing filling the gaps between frame and wall. Performs same check on back door and finds the same. Declares that all windows are likely "fitted" the same. Again, allocated only the morning. Some foam applied to the window where the sealant had been removed for inspection and the back door was sealed correctly - all that could be achieved. States it will be a 3 day job to rectify all faults and fit new double doors correctly. 7 July General manager comes to visit - agrees job is awful and not up to standard. Agrees that all faults will be rectified as listed including replacement of the double doors and frame. Work arranged to be carried out 16/17 August with the fitters being allowed an additional day if required. Called 13th to see if we could receive fitters the following day instead. Informed they would attend 14/15 - oh, and the double doors were returned faulty and will not be fitted until the replacement is received on Thursday. Solo fitter arrives Saturday 14th unaware he has been promised to work our windows the Sunday too - had his own family commitments and therefore would not be available. Apparently, front door glass still on order - from a supplier 3 miles from the fitter's home. Nothing achieved. CURRENT STATUS 3 MONTHS SINCE JOB START: * 8 x windows incorrectly fitted * 1 x composite door incorrectly fitted with damaged glass * damaged double doors and frame incorrectly fitted with one reveal badly trimmed whilst the other is bare filler currently crumbling and dusting the treadboard - which is the incorrect material and fitted on dabs of silicone causing flexing. * 1 x opener which feels like it may fall from the 1st floor whenever opened. * various other finishing faults, scrapes and scratches. Contact with the office is never forthcoming and they always seem evasive when attempting to call - in a meeting or just "popped out". Feels like they feed the customer with falsehoods and false hope of rectification ever being made. Also sounds like they are less than truthful with the fitters. In summary, we were better off with our tatty old windows and doors - at least we knew what we had, they were fitted correctly and we had walls we could decorate. One star is the minimum allowed.
