Shady business practices for existing customer
Have used Bitdefender for years, but I keep auto-renewal off. Don't ever let vendors charge me without review and approval, plus there are always much better deals available. BD charges double the annual price to existing accounts. BD charged my VISA 17 days before the renewal date without giving me prior notice. When I lodged a complaint, and requested a refund, the response was that I had selected auto-renewal on my account. They then offered me two years for the same price. No refund of the charge. Later, I checked my BD account page and it showed the date that I turned auto-renew off two years ago. Never turned it back on. So BD turned it back on without my permission. I went through their process to turn auto-renew off again. Had to go through multiple pages designed to keep you from doing so. At the end, it displayed a list of services that I will no longer receive by not auto-renewing. BD will no longer auto update, you lose support, and control of your account. Doesn't matter how good your product might be, this is a really crappy way to treat customers.
