Yes, this really is Autodoc

Let's start with the positive: BIG selection, nice and fast website, fast shipping and good prices. Customer service is quick to respond and very polite. The problems start if something goes wrong. I ordered a new rear wiper arm for my Citroen C2 using their part search engine. A few days later, the part arrived but - it turns out - could not possibly fit my Citroen C2 because it's meant for a Citroen C1. I sent an email to customer support, but if you don't pay them the extra €6 for "safe ordering", you pay the return shipment yourself - even if the company implicitly recognises their database is wrong because the compatibility list was updated to remove the C2 within a day or two of my complaint. I won't go into the number of photos required to prove to them that the part doesn't fit - this was a pretty painful process. They want the original part next to the new part (can't - the original part was missing), the picture wasn't clear enough, could I try a different angle, please could I put the original part (still missing) in the frame etc etc etc. The second wiper arm ("yes, our technical department is *sure* this part fits") also didn't fit, so back into the whole photo circus to get the RMA. On the positive side, Autodoc were ultimately willing to accept both parts back and the refund was fairly quick (even if they *did* try to give me a store credit (=no)). I originally filed this review under autodoc.de. The reason for this is that there is really only one big car parts company active online in Europe, and the individual websites (like autonvaraosat24) are just different websites or subsidiaries - frequently more than one operating in each country. My boxes were all labelled Autodoc, the paypal payment went to Autodoc, the street address on the invoice and customer service contact email were Autodoc, and so on. Autodoc complained to Trustpilot that I had not placed an order with autodoc.de and therefore the review should be removed. While this is true, there really is no difference - the company behind all these sites is the same, but it seems Trustpilot felt that this was reason enough to ask me to move the review. The long and the short of it is that my review would go from 2 to 4 stars if: Autodoc wasn't petulant about technicalities like which website did I order from. Autodoc was willing to acknowledge their mistakes a bit more quickly and not make the whole discussion around photos so painful. Autodoc stood behind their compatibility checker a bit more firmly, rather than changing their database and pretending the mis-ordered part was my fault.
