Is this a COVID scam?
During COVID I needed to cancel a flight. I was told I would have 2 years to redeem credit with Air Canada. When I called to book a flight before the deadline of October 27 I was given the worst run around ever experienced. All I needed was a credit voucher number. I'd been given a number to call. 1-866-383-9353. Spoke to about 4 people at this number. Itinerary #72187625851028 ticket # 0149238577394. Case S#159284731 called 855-222-6739 and spoke to another 4 or so people there. Still hadn't been given travel voucher #. A day earlier I spoke with a guy and was told I had a credit of about $496 and it expired in October/23 and to call back when I had dates needed for flight. After this first call, several others told me I did not have credit or credit expired after one year or could not see Itinerary number. One guy even hung up on me when I asked him who he worked for. After I verified my Master Card and amount Rose Ann at Travelocity number told me she was booking my flight but couldn't get through and told me to call a few numbers at Air Canada despite my best effort to tell her that Air Canada kept referring me back to Travelocity. She left the chat and someone else picked up chat and wanted all the information again despite having a case #. In a last ditch effort I asked for his supervisor and I was told to call 855-222-6739 and although I checked Air Canada Flights just prior to calling, I was told this ticket to St. John's Newfoundland would cost $620 including Travelocity credit but would have only cost me $361.59 had I booked return ticket directly with Air Canada. There were enough stories and false information to write a book about poor customer service. A few days later I received a change to the flight from Air Canada. Only the plane was changed, not the times requested>>>> leaving 6:25 a.m. on September 11 and returning 1]
