In memory of Ingrid
If Zero stars were possible, that would be my rating. MANY TEARS ANIMAL RESCUE has admitted they did NOT do a 'Home Check' before placing a GREAT DANE, one of the largest breeds of dog, on foster at a property in our village. That dog jumped over the low garden fence at the property and attacked our beautiful greyhound Ingrid as we walked past, causing her fear, pain, suffering and death. There were MULTIPLE FAILINGS listed in their own report and 7 CHANGES IN PROCEDURE have been identified as being required, along with the gardens of ALL THEIR CURRENT FOSTER HOMES BEING REASSESSED. We have had to fight every step of the way to get to this point. Yes they are a dog rescue and Yes they are a charity, but neither of those should be used as a shield when something so horrific and that was 100% PREVENTABLE happens. If the garden fence was higher, Ingrid would still be alive and I would not have to live with the constant flashbacks, anxiety and sleep deprivation that now dominate my life. It could have been any dog, or even a child. That day it was Ingrid. In her memory we are trying to prevent anything like this from ever happening again. A liability investigation is now under way and the Charity Commission is also involved. Many Tears Animal Rescue have told us to “proceed externally as you feel appropriate”. A review feels "appropriate".
