Taking chances with staff members at Reception.. no sympathy
I've had to travel all the way back home with my soon to be 15 year old son (July) *near looks 18. This is is how things panned out - we were denied access by a lady at the reception this afternoon 21st June, mid 50's woman, brown shoulder length hair, on the basis that my son needed to have induction and not allowed on the gym floor without it, I told her I didn't understand why he was allowed access the last time we came at Easter by her male colleague who had told me provided I was with him at all times it was ok for a guest pass at £15 for a session on the gym floor. (double standards). To top it off, the very woman then back tracked and said my son could do cardio but not weights, however as soon as she had called her 'day' manager /duty manager, he too had a script of his own saying only swimming was allowed for him. Otherwise we had to get a new membership for him with induction for £20. At this point my frustrated son and I left the premises. The least they could have done in consideration of customer service.. is just that once let us through & the safeguarding onus on me as a parent to be responsible for him on the floor, be it he only does cardio... but No. Was alright at Easter.. not today It's like playing the lottery with staff at this gym! Some are utter rude! Another thing, the other week, I was yelled at for not bringing my gym card by a staff member whom I've never asked a thing from ever, I literally told him "I've never requested you to get the gate open for me, why the attitude"! terrible man, guy with glasses and bold head.
