Held off writing this for over a year…
Held off writing this for over a year to make sure they wouldn't be able to identify me. First time buyer, in an excellent position no chain, good credit etc. Someone in the company was delaing with everything and messed every single thing up along the way you could imagine. He knew from the very start of the process in July, when the mortgage was approved, this was a joint lender, sole proprieter situation. Yet continued to put the other person on all of the paperwork and never advised we'd have to pay an extortionate amount to get them written off the house deeds, titles etc. By the way, no one seems to actually do this and I had to ask my mortgage advisor what to do as I had no idea it was even a thing. He'd send important paperwork over on a Thursday evening or Friday to be signed ASAP, knowing I wouldn't be able to post it back until the weekend and then having to wait until Mondau for him to confirm it was received. Kept putting my old address I was moving out of on everything, not the new address. Was advised to just cross it out and correct HIS mistake, that was made multiple times. I can't even count the amount of times I had to chase him up for simple things as he'd leave me in the lurch for whole weeks, knowing the sellers also wanted it completing in 6 weeks and I was more than capable of that, and his sheer incompetence wasn't helpful with the pressure they were putting on me. I don't think he should've been assigned my case as a first time buyer. I know everyone has to learn, okay, but this wasn't the time to do so when speed was of the essence. I'd have paid £10,000.00 in legal fees at the end of all of this just to never have to deal with him again. Awful and stressful experience, I nearly pulled out multiple times
