I booked travel insurance with Just Travel for a 2 week Caribbean cruise at the time of booking the trip. This was a year in advance of the trip which I thought was sensible and covers any unfortunate occurrences if problems arise. At a later date my wife who was included on the cover developed a medical condition and I promptly informed Just Travel who informed me I would need to pay an additional amount to cover this condition. My argument is that surely the insurance should cover these unfortunately problems but apparently not. Why on earth do you take insurance cover if it turns out you are not covered when your health deteriorates during the term of the cover. Now what makes this more annoying is that we had an annual European travel insurance policy with another reputable travel insurance company and when I informed that insurer they stated that because I had already taken the insurance cover that we were covered and no extra premium was required. This to me seems logical and is probably a better insurance company. The moral of my experience is be careful using Just Travel because if you need to claim they will do every thing to get more money from you. When I raised this with Just Travel they said it was the under writers problem AIG and I should talk to them.
