Marriott Vacation Club - Worst Decision I Ever Made
I have been a "Presidential" owner of Marriott for over 20 years. I own 4 weeks of timeshare (3 weeks Phuket and 1 week Las Vegas). Marriott's website is nothing short of shameful; it is extraordinarily slow and when you try to book points you routinely get a message "Fatal Error Searching Availability". Most recently (Aug 30, 2022) I contacted Marriott to "bank" my time / points and got a message stating that "all lines were busy" and was offered a callback. The callback never came and the deadline (Aug 31, 2022) passed. I contacted Marriott again on Sep 1, 2022 to enquire why no one called me back and asked how I can bank my time / points but was told flat out that under no circumstances could I bank my time / points because the deadline had now passed (1 day) and that it is up to me to chase Marriott before the deadline passes regardless of the systems / staffing issues that they apparently have. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that the manager declined my request to bank my time / points and that I could not speak with the manager as, apparently, "managers do not take phone calls". My experience with Marriott over the years has not been much better, but it is clear (in my opinion) that in recent years Marriott has completely lost its way and has zero interest in taking care of its most important asset - the owners / customers. I truly regret being talked into buying these timeshare weeks and am planning to do whatever I can to get out of them once and for all.
