It took three days to install our beautiful new Daikin air source heat pump. We had been a bit worried about how the installation would work, would the men arrive in time and do a good job? Hafod arrived exactly on time on Day One and worked all day to install the new huge water cylinder into our existing airing cupboard. Day two saw the hydro box installed and connected to the system. Day three and the huge fan was in its new home in the garden beside the house wall. By the end of the third day it was all running beautifully. The house felt different: not hot but gently warm throughout- no more shutting doors to keep the heat in- the warmth was everywhere! All day and all night too. The system is unbelievably quiet in operation. It’s like the Rolls Royce of the air source heating pumps. Did we we have any snags? Yes. In a way we were very lucky because we did not have to change any radiators; but there is a snag with old radiators because they have a build up of black gunge inside them and the day after completion, everything stopped working. Our engineer Iwan came as quickly as he could and cleaned the filter of the black stuff. Since then, we’ve had no problems. The team worked extremely hard and made sure we understood how the system works. They tidied up after themselves and took all the packaging away as well as the old pipe work and old cylinder. There were thorough and pleasant throughout. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hafod and Daikin to any potential buyers. Communications with the company were excellent and they really cared that our installation went well. They were very helpful with the guarantee and the RHI payments advice. Best of all we have reduced our carbon footprint: it’s a win win for us.
