I've been a Barclays customer for 42years and have been relatively happy with their service until recently. I recently travelled 30mimutes to my nearest branch (my local one was closed down). I wanted to open a first bank account for my daughter. I waited patiently in a queue for ten minutes to be told that I'd need to make an appointment and that nobody could help me that day. Needless to say I went a few doors down to Metro bank, who were a thousand times more welcoming and who opened a new account for my daughter within twenty minutes. Disappointing customer service from Barclays and disappointing that you're becoming increasing inaccessible to your loyal customers.
