Very Disappointed
My wife & I had been going to the Marriott Cypress Harbour for the past three years & before that we stayed at the Marriott World Center. Last year as terms of our sales presentation agreement we were provided a $300 gift card. Our intention was to use the gift card on our next visit. Little did we know the gift card Marriott provided expired within five months. At no point was the card ever activated or used. When we arrived for our sales presentation on Sunday March 2nd we explained the gift card issue with the representative/greeter at the front desk and she would have a Manager speak with us. The Manager spoke with us and advised she would see what she could do. We went through our sales presentation and the sales rep began the presentation by mentioning if there is one thing about Marriott is they will make it right. Well the presentation concluded just before the 90-minute mark. The sales rep stepped away and since we were now waiting after the 90-minute mark with no pricing let alone an update on the card we proceeded to leave. As we were leaving the rep and a Sales Manager come back and the Sales Manager advised he had numbers to go over with us and when I asked about the gift card status he advised there was nothing he could do but would have someone speak with us. Yet now another person speaks with us to advise there was nothing that could be done but we were welcome to pick up the gift card for attending this presentation. This presentation left us with a very poor image of Marriott and how it treats loyal guests. As a result we will no longer be choosing Marriott as a vacation option and will review and advise others of the same. Rafael Garcia from Corporate followed up and offered us 40,000 and then 50,000 Bonvoy points towards a future stay. While Rafael was very professional with email responses this offer does nothing to provide us with righting the wrong from the $300 gift card. An offer of Bovoy points and addressing the gift card would have been a serious way of addressing the issue.
